Scott Hammerschmith

Scott Hammerschmith is a Sales Engineer with Orenco Systems, Inc., a wastewater equipment manufacturing firm based in Sutherlin, Oregon. In this role, he prepares proposals, develops cost estimates and hydraulic grade line reports, reviews projects, and promotes commercial sales in his region. He was instrumental in the Oregon launch of Orenco\’s AdvanTex product line and led the development of the Oregon Service Provider network. He has also been involved with several multi-stage AX-Max denitrification projects. Scott earned his associate\’s degree in Applied Science from Umpqua Community College and has previous experience as a contractor doing site work, excavations, wastewater system installations, and concrete finishing. When he\’s not working, Scott enjoys family time with his wife and children, as well landscape photography and spending time outdoors.

Ron McMurtrie,P.Eng.

Ron McMurtrie is a consulting civil engineer with over 25 years of experience in the design and implementation of on-site wastewater systems and rural community infrastructure. He embraces the concept of providing long-term sustainable infrastructure, with reduced life cycle and energy costs. He uses an integrated approach to projects providing design and project management services, equipment sales and operation and maintenance via his companies, Ron McMurtrie and Associates Engineering and Blue Island Onsite. In collaboration with other companies and experts in the on-site industry, Ron uses an integrated approach to projects, providing design and project management services, equipment sales and operation and maintenance via his companies, Ron McMurtrie and Associates Engineering and Blue Island Onsite. Ron is co-author of the APEGBC Professional Practice Guidelines, Onsite Sewerage Systems and has provided technical support and review for all three versions of the SPM.
